weather-model-photo-by-the-national-guard.jpg Ever wanted to predict the weather?

Now you can, using National Weather Service weather models.

A weather model is one of the most important tools in predicting your local weather forecast.

Various kinds of weather models show us all kinds of weather data, including:

  • Precipitation
  • Air pressure
  • Wind speed
  • Wind direction
  • Humidity
  • Temperature
  • Cloud coverage

While you’ll have to have a basic working knowledge of how weather works to make weather forecasts using a weather model, knowing the basics of weather is simple.

…And making weather forecasts is fun (especially when your weather forecast is correct)!

LynnetteAs a homeowner, I primarily write about weather safety tips that everyone should know in order to protect their home and family during major weather events. I especially like to share seasonal "outside the box" ideas that most wouldn't think of in the Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall. The weather events I've personally experienced include: Hurricanes (while living in Florida), Tornadoes (while living in Indiana, Texas, and Tennessee), Earthquakes (while visiting California), Blizzards (while living in New York and Indiana), and Flooding (while living in Tennessee).
